Best Cloud-Based Electrical Estimating Software for 2026

Updated

The best cloud-based electrical estimating software depends on whether you want a true browser app or desktop software hosted for you. Browser apps: SparkQuote for small and mid-size electrical shops (free during its beta), STACK for multi-trade teams, Procore Estimating for Procore users, Countfire and Drawer AI for AI counting, and Trimble Estimation MEP for small MEP contractors. Hosted versions of desktop suites: Accubid Anywhere, ConEst IntelliBid on CE Cloud and McCormick, for commercial contractors who want the big databases without a local server.

We make SparkQuote, so read its entry with that in mind. Every other fact on this page comes from the vendor's own pages or review sites, checked October 15–18, 2026. Sources are at the end.

Browser app or hosted desktop?

Vendors call both "cloud." The difference shows up on a Mac, a tablet or a slow connection:

  • Browser app: built for the web. You open a URL on any device and log in. Nothing to install or update.
  • Hosted desktop: the Windows program runs on the vendor's servers and you reach it remotely. You get the full desktop suite from anywhere, but it can feel slower; some McCormick reviewers find the online version slower than the on-premises install.

1. SparkQuote: best cloud estimating for small and mid-size electrical shops

SparkQuote runs in the browser on a laptop, phone or tablet, and every page is built for a phone first. It does the takeoff from your PDF plans: the AI reads the legend, counts devices and fixtures, and marks every count on the sheet. The counts feed your labor units and assemblies, and the proposal goes out with your logo as PDF or Excel.

  • Price: free during the beta, with 5 AI takeoffs a month and no credit card. Planned plans from $99 a month; see pricing.
  • Limits: new, one user per account during the beta, no licensed supplier price service, and a smaller item database than the legacy suites.

2. STACK: best for multi-trade teams in the browser

STACK runs in any browser on Mac, PC and tablets, with Autocount on paid plans, plan version comparison, multi-user permissions and integrations with Procore, Dodge and ERP systems.

  • Price: Takeoff & Estimate from $299 per user per month; full platform from $348. A limited free version allows 2 concurrent projects for 7 days, without Autocount or export.
  • Watch for: it needs a reliable connection, and some reviewers report slowdowns on big plan sets. Capterra 4.5/5 (1,399 reviews).
  • Full comparison: STACK alternative.

3. Procore Estimating: best for contractors already on Procore

Formerly Esticom, a cloud tool built for electrical and low-voltage contractors, now part of Procore. It runs in the browser with iOS and Android apps, supports several users on one takeoff in real time, and sends estimates into Procore budgets.

  • Price: not published; annual contracts priced on annual construction volume, with unlimited users. Capterra lists a 14-day trial.
  • Full comparison: Esticom alternative.

4. Countfire: best cloud AI counting

Countfire is cloud-only, on PC or Mac with nothing to install. Smart Select counts a symbol across every drawing in a project, and revised drawings are auto-counted.

  • Price: not published; per user, after a 7-day trial. Capterra 4.8/5 (243 reviews).
  • Full comparison: Countfire alternative.

5. Drawer AI: best cloud takeoff for circuits and home runs

Drawer AI runs in the browser and goes past counting: it links devices to panels and circuits, routes home runs and sizes wire with voltage drop. It hands you an Excel report and a marked-up PDF.

  • Price: not published; annual plans with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

6. Trimble Estimation MEP: best browser option from Trimble

Trimble sells Estimation MEP as a browser-based product for small to mid-size MEP contractors, separate from Accubid.

  • Price: $1,950 per user per year (US, Pro). It's the only Trimble estimating product with a published price.

7. Trimble Accubid Anywhere: best cloud suite for large commercial contractors

Accubid Anywhere is the cloud subscription version of Accubid, with multi-user and multi-branch estimating, real-time Trade Service pricing, Supplier Xchange, change orders and LiveCount AI.

8. ConEst IntelliBid on CE Cloud: best hosted database

IntelliBid runs on Windows on a local network or hosted on ConEst's CE Cloud, which you can reach from Windows, Mac, Chromebooks, iPads and Android tablets. Forum users have praised the cloud version's remote access and backups.

9. McCormick: best for Foundation users who want hosting

McCormick is sold cloud-hosted or on-premises, with multi-user estimating and job-cost hand-off to Foundation accounting.

  • Price: not published. Software Advice lists $300 per user per month, which McCormick doesn't confirm.
  • Watch for: some reviewers find the online version slower than on-premises.
  • Full comparison: McCormick alternative.

How to choose

  1. Try it on the device you'll use. Open the tool on your Mac, tablet or phone during the trial, not just the office PC.
  2. Load a large plan set. Cloud tools differ most on a 100-sheet set over a site connection.
  3. Ask where your data lives and how you get it out. Export to Excel or PDF, and what happens to your projects if you cancel.
  4. Price the seats. Browser apps are usually priced per user per month; hosted suites add hosting to the license. Get both in writing.
