The tools that only quote
Six of the 14 tools don't publish a price. Here's what is public about each, so you know what to ask.
Trimble Accubid. Trimble publishes no price for Accubid Classic, Accubid Anywhere or Accubid Enterprise. The only Trimble estimating product with a list price is Estimation MEP, at $1,950 per user per year in the US. Some directories show Accubid Anywhere "from $1 per user per month"; that's a listing placeholder, not a price you can buy at. More in Accubid pricing and alternatives.
McCormick. McCormick Systems, part of Foundation Software, asks you to request a demo. Software Advice and Capterra list a starting price of $300 per user per month, which McCormick hasn't confirmed. Details in the McCormick comparison.
ConEst IntelliBid. Quoted by sales. The supplier price services it compares across (NetPricer, EPIC and TRA-SER) are licensed separately. See the ConEst comparison.
Countfire. Its pricing URL redirects to the contact page. ITQlick lists it from $99 per user per month and $799 a month for 10 users; Countfire doesn't confirm either. See the Countfire comparison.
Procore Estimating. Priced with the rest of Procore, by your annual construction volume, through sales.
Drawer AI. Annual plans, quoted after a demo.
What else goes on the invoice
The license is rarely the whole bill. Ask for each of these as a separate line:
- Setup and onboarding. TurboBid charges $350 to set up the monthly plan. Capterra reviewers of the legacy suites say training adds noticeably to the cost.
- Supplier price services. TRA-SER (Trade Service), EPIC and NetPricer keep material prices current in Accubid, ConEst and McCormick. They're separate subscriptions.
- Add-on modules. Change orders, service, job cost hand-off and hosting are add-ons on some suites (for example ChangeOrder on Accubid Classic).
- Minimum term. Togal.AI and Estimation MEP bill yearly. Ask what happens to your estimates and libraries if you cancel.
- Hardware and platform. PlanSwift and TurboBid run on Windows. On a Mac you'll need a Windows machine or a hosted desktop.
Published price or demo first?
Published prices favor small shops: you can test, compare and buy without a sales cycle. Quote-only suites favor larger contractors who will negotiate multi-seat, multi-year deals with training included. If you bid residential, light commercial or tenant-improvement work with one to three estimators, start with tools you can price yourself, then book demos only if a deep database or price service is a must. Our best electrical estimating software list covers fit, and free electrical estimating software covers what you can use at no cost.
The best test is a job you've already bid. Run that plan set through two tools during their trials and compare the counts, the hours and what each would cost for your seats.
